Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey breast

  • 1 shallot, roughly chopped

  • 2 large garlic cloves, roughly chopped

  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeds removed and roughly chopped

  • ½ small red pepper, rough chopped

  • ½ cup cilantro leaves, stems removed

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp ground black pepper

  • Olive oil for pan

Directions:

  1. Put shallot, garlic, peppers and cilantro in the food processor

  2. Pulse until ingredients look like having been minced

  3. Do not over mix because it would become a mush-like texture

  4. With your hands, mix the ground turkey with the vegetables, salt, pepper, cumin and chili powder in a bowl

  5. Divide the turkey mixture into 4 evenly sized balls

  6. Make patties out of the turkey mixture balls

  7. Drizzle patties with olive oil for grilling or put olive oil in the skillet/pan if using the stove top

  8. Grill for about 6 minutes on each side or cook in the skillet/pan over medium high heat

  9. Serve with desired condiments or on a bed of lettuce
